Abstract
Frequency of off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery is rapidly increasing nowadays due to the development of surgical techniques and devices used for cardiac fixation and movement. And mortality and complications of off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery has been reduced compared to those of coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Recent studies have shown that off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery is widely used in patients with multi-vessel disease and may result in myocardial injury due to repeated ischemia and reperfusion. So here we report a case of a 78-year-old woman who experienced myocardial ischemia during an emergency off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery which is suspected to be caused by reperfusion injury.
